Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane will make his return to the lineup on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken, the team announced. Additionally, the Blackhawks have assigned goaltender Jaxson Stauber to AHL Rockford.
Kane confirmed his return to the lineup after participating in morning skate, informing reporters that he was expecting to play.
While Kane, 34, only missed the Blackhawks' last three contests as he dealt with a lower-body injury, he told media it felt like he's been away for "three months."
The team put Kane on IR Friday but it was retroactive to Jan. 3 making the winger eligible for Saturday's game.
Drafted by Chicago first overall at the 2007 NHL Draft, Kane has spent 16 years with the franchise. He's recorded seven goals and 20 assists in 37 games so far this season.
