Chicago Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson told reporters Saturday that defenceman Seth Jones will be placed on the injured reserve due to a foot injury.
Jones blocked a shot with his foot during Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken, according to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The 30-year-old has 10 points (two goals and eight assists) in 17 games this season. He is also a minus-five and is averaging 25:43 minutes in ice time.
Jones is in the third season of an eight-year contract extension carrying a $9.5-million cap hit.
Meanwhile, forward Taylor Hall will be a healthy scratch against the Vancouver Canucks. The 2010 first-overall draft pick has six points (two goals and four assists) in 17 games.
The Blackhawks (6-10-1) are have lost three of their past four games entering Saturday's matchup against the Canucks.
