The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Patrik Laine off of Injured Reserve, making the Finn available for Saturday's game against the Red Wings.
Laine, 25, has one goal and one assist in four games this season and has not played since taking a high hit from Calgary's Rasmus Andersson on Oct. 20. The hit has kept him out of the lineup for three weeks, while Andersson received a four-game suspension for charging.
The Blue Jackets (4-6-3) play in Detroit at 1 p.m. and will be happy to have Laine back. That game can be seen on Sportsnet+.
In order to make room for Laine, the Blue Jackets assigned defenceman David Jiricek to their AHL team.
Pittsburgh Penguins
Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry is set to start against Buffalo on Saturday, after leaving Tuesday's game against the Ducks with an injury.
Jarry was injured when his helmet was knocked off, courtesy of the Ducks' Adam Henrique, and the puck then struck him in the face.
The 28-year-old is 4-5-0, with a 2.52 GAA and .907 save percentage in nine games this season.
Arizona Coyotes
Connor Ingram is expected to start in goal on Saturday against the Nashville Predators, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.
Ingram and Karel Vejmelka have been rotating the starts, with Ingram having made six and Vejmelka eight so far this season.
The 26-year-old Ingram, who was born in Saskatoon, has been the better of the two so far, posting a 2.47 goals-against average and .919 save percentage, compared to Vejmelka's 2.97 GAA, .908SV%.
In addition, Ingram is 4-1, while Vejmelka is 2-5-1.
