Former Vancouver Canucks goalie Spencer Martin was placed on waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.
Martin, 28, had a .887 save percentage and 3.65 goals-against average in 13 games this season. He was claimed off waivers from the Canucks in September.
The Columbus crease was getting crowded after Elvis Merzlikins, who has seen limited action since Dec. 29, said he didn't want to be a backup. Daniil Tarasov is the de facto No. 1 for the Blue Jackets.
