In their second move of the day, the Carolina Hurricanes traded the rights to forward Gregory Hofmann to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2022 seventh-round pick, the teams announced.
Hofmann, 28, has 16 goals and 36 points in 32 games this season with EV Zug of the Swiss National League. He was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2011 draft, but he has never played in the NHL or AHL (this is his 12th season in the Swiss National League).
Carolina has its full assortment of picks in 2022, plus Columbus’s seventh-rounder now. The Hurricanes have three seventh-round picks in the 2021 draft as well.
