The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Brandon Saad on injured reserve with an upper-body injury and have recalled forward Jake Neighbours from its AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, the team announced Thursday.
Saad sustained the injury in Wednesday's clash against the Florida Panthers, he exited and was ruled out for the remainder of the game before the start of the third period.
The 30-year-old has dressed in 46 games for the Blues this season, tallying 15 goals, seven assists and six penalty minutes. Overall, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native has appeared in 12 NHL seasons, including stints with Chicago, Columbus, Colorado and St. Louis, amassing 442 points (223 goals, 219 assists) in 756 career regular-season games.
Neighbours, 20, has dressed in 27 games for the Blues this season, logging four goals, four assists and nine penalty minutes.
