The St. Louis Blues will get some big reinforcements on their blue line with the addition of a top prospect after they announced Scott Perunovich had been recalled from the AHL.
The 23-year-old is off to a blazing start to his first pro season, scoring two goals and 20 points in 12 AHL games to share the league-lead in scoring. He spent the last three seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he won back-to-back NCAA titles in 2018 and 2019 and was named the Hobey Baker Award winner as the best collegiate player in 2020.
The Blues originally selected Perunovich with a second-round pick, 45th overall, in 2018.
In corresponding moves, the Blues assigned goaltender Joel Hofer, forward Dakota Joshua and defenceman Calle Rosen to AHL Springfield. The team had been dealing with some COVID-19 issues in recent days so those moves suggest the roster could be getting healthier.
