The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Sammy Blais to a one-year, $1-million contract extension, the team announced Thursday.
Blais, 26, was acquired by the Blues via trade from the New York Rangers on Feb. 9. In nine appearances with the Blues since his acquisition, the Montmagny, Que. native has posted two goals, one assist and two penalty minutes.
Originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Blais has dressed in 182 career regular-season games between the Blues and Rangers, collecting 47 points (19 goals, 28 assists).
He has also tallied eight points (three goals, five assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 27 career postseason games.
