The St. Louis Blues will be without winger Vladimir Tarasenko Saturday night due to illness, the team announced.
Tarasenko’s top-line spot is expected to be filled by Alexey Toropchenko, who will slot into the Blues lineup for the first time since Nov. 8.
"[Torpchenko] is a player we really like," Blues head coach Craig Berube said. "Size, speed, plays the right type of game. He's an effective player."
An alternate captain, Tarasenko has 13 points in 16 games, and adds to a growing list of Blues out of the lineup. Defensive staple Colton Parayko is also hurt, dealing with an upper-body injury, according to the team, and set to miss his third straight.
The undermanned Blues will be looking to win their sixth straight, having snapped an eight-game skid earlier this month, as they welcome the Anaheim Ducks.
