Hard-hit by the coronavirus and injuries this season, the St. Louis Blues will again be short at least one player because of COVID-19 protocols when they host the Detroit Red Wings.
The team announced the shortfall on Twitter on Thursday.
The Blues reported they have nine players unavailable because of injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so they will play with a less-than-full lineup for the second consecutive game. They played one man short in their 4-3 OT win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
Defenceman Justin Faulk, No. 1 goalie Jordan Binnington and forward Tyler Bozak were previously announced as Blues in virus protocol. The Blues are also without injured forwards David Perron, James Neal and Klim Kostin, and goalie Ville Husso, among others.
