The Boston Bruins recalled defenceman Mason Lohrei from their American Hockey League affiliate in Providence, R.I., on Tuesday.
The addition of the six-foot-five Lohrei, who played in 41 games with the Bruins this season, provides the team with blue line depth. Fellow rearguard Andrew Peeke did not play in the third period of Game 2 of the Bruins' first-round playoff loss against the Maple Leafs on Monday night.
Peeke is listed as out with a finger injury. On Tuesday, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery announced that Peeke was "week to week" and said he would not travel to Toronto for Games 3 and 4.
Parker Wotherspoon is an option to replace Peeke. Defenceman Derek Forbort continues to work his way back from an injury that last saw him play on March 2.
The Bruins are travelling to Toronto for Game 3 of their series, which will take place on Wednesday night.
