The Edmonton Oilers are off to a hot start to the season, and key players just keep breaking records.
On Thursday night, it was Evan Bouchard's turn as the defenceman became the fastest blue-liner in Oilers history to hit 10 goals, reaching the mark in 17 games.
Bouchard's double-digit marker came late in the first period against the Anaheim Ducks on a power play to tie the game.
He broke a record previously held by Paul Coffey, who hit 10 goals in 22 games back in 1983-84.
The 27-year-old defenceman has been prolific to start the year, with 10 goals and 29 points, ranking third in league scoring.
With an assist on the Bouchard goal, captain Connor McDavid also extended his assist streak to 17 games.
The Oilers would go on to lose 5-4.
The Oilers are first in the Pacific Division with an 11-3-3 record.
