One of the highest-scoring defencemen in the NHL has found a new home.
Brandon Montour and Seattle Kraken have agreed to a seven-year, $50-million contract, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Monday.
Montour, 29, had eight goals and 33 points in 66 games this season for the Panthers before helping them to their first Stanley Cup win in franchise history.
In 2022-23, he had 73 points to tie for fifth in scoring by a defenceman.
Montour, 30, is a 10-year NHL veteran who has played for the Ducks, Sabres and Panthers. He is coming off a three-year, $10.5-million contract.
