The Boston Bruins will most likely have to finish Game 2 with just five defencemen.
Defenceman Andrew Peeke exited Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs during the second period and did not return for the start of the third.
Peeke had one hit in 10:20 of ice time before being forced to leave. The Bruins said he was questionable to return.
Head coach Jim Montgomery had no update on Peeke's status after the game.
The 26-year-old defenceman primarily plays on the team's third pair with Kevin Shattenkirk and also sees time on the team's penalty kill. He played 17:14 in the Bruins' Game 1 win.
Boston acquired Peeke from the Columbus Blue Jackets at this year's trade deadline in exchange for defenceman Jakub Zboril and a 2027 third-round draft pick. In 15 regular-season games with the Bruins Peeke picked up two assists.
