Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron exited and will not return to Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadiens due to an upper-body injury.
After the game head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed Bergeron was fine and added the captain wanted to stay in the game.
Going into Thursday's action, Bergeron had suited up for 77 of the team's 81 games, scoring 27 goals and recording 31 assists with a plus-34 rating.
Leading the Eastern Conference, Boston will play the Florida Panthers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Bruins beat the Canadiens 5-4 to set the record for most wins (65) and points (135) in an NHL season.
