Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000 for slashing Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov in Game 2 on Wednesday.

The incident occurred late in the second period when Marchand and Kochetkov collided, with the former slashing the latter after the whistle blew.

Marchand has one assist through two playoff games this season.

Kochetkov, 22, made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in Game 2, stopping 30 of 32 shots in the Hurricanes’ 5-2 victory on Wednesday.

Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort has also been fined $5,000 for high-sticking Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen during Game 2.

Forbort was assessed a double-minor penalty for high-sticking in the third period.

Carolina leads the first-round series 2-0.
