Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand will miss Saturday afternoon's game against the Buffalo Sabres due to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols.

Marchand, 32, has 12 goals and 34 points in 29 games this season for the Bruins, who enter Saturday's action sitting fourth in the East Division.

The NHL postponed a pair of Bruins games last week due to COVID-19 protocols and the team's facilities were closed until Wednesday, when it was able to practice. Boston returned to action Thursday against the New York Islanders, a game the Bruins lost 4-3 in overtime.

After Saturday's contest against the visiting Sabres, the Bruins are scheduled to host the New Jersey Devils on Sunday evening.
