The Boston Bruins could be without their top scorer heading into the holiday break.
Forward David Pastrnak left Monday's game against the Washington Capitals in the second period and the team announced he was unlikely to return with an upper-body injury and in fact did not return to the bench.
It's unclear where Pastrnak suffered the injury, but he played just four shifts in the second period and 9:00 of ice time before he exited the game.
Despite the Bruins' slow start, the Havirov, Czechia native is still producing at a point-per-game clip, with 12 goals and 23 points in 35 games. He was held pointless on Monday, but did have one shot on goal.
The Bruins won the game 4-1.
