Bruins' Marchand playing vs. Jets despite being previously ruled out

Brad Marchand left the game favouring his shoulder after being driven into the boards by Garnet Hathaway.

Boston Bruins star Brad Marchand is playing Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets after previously ruled out.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy said the forward was “feeling a lot better” before puck drop.

This comes less than 24 hours after the Bruins coach said the 33 year-old would miss Saturday’s game.

Marchand left Thursday’s 4-3 Bruins win over the Washington Capitals in the second period with an upper-body injury after getting hit along the boards by Garnet Hathaway. The Caps forward received a two-minute minor penalty for interference.
