Boston Bruins defenceman Kevan Miller has been transported to a local hospital for scans and further evaluation after suffering an apparent injury following a hit from Dmitry Orlov, the team announced.
The injury occurred in the second period of Game 4 against the Washington Capitals. Miller was attempting to enter the Capitals zone, when Orlov followed through on a high, late hit. The Bruins defenceman was shaken up on the play and slow to get up. He left the ice with some assistance from team medical staff.
Orlov was assessed a double-minor for roughing after the play.
Further details on the severity of Miller’s injury are not known at this time.
