The Boston Bruins signed Alec Regula to a one-year, two-way contract with an NHL cap hit of $775,000 on Monday.
Last season, Regula skated in 51 AHL games for the Rockford IceHogs, racking up 21 points (five goals, 16 assists). The American defenceman has also played 22 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, scoring his first career NHL goal against the Calgary Flames in April of 2022.
The Bruins acquired Regula last month in a trade that sent forwards Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to the Blackhawks.
The 22-year-old Michigan native was first drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
