The Boston Bruins have signed defenceman Parker Wotherspoon to a one-year, $800,000 contract extension, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Friday.
The 26-year-old has appeared in 32 games for the Bruins this season, recording six assists and averaging 17:58 of ice time.
Wotherspoon signed a one-year, two-way deal this past off-season with Boston. Before that, the Surrey, B.C., native spent six seasons with the New York Islanders organization, which selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Wotherspoon had played in only 12 games with the Islanders after spending Islanders the majority of his career in the AHL.
