The Calgary Flames are dipping into the AHL for a spark.
The Flames announced on Tuesday that top prospect Connor Zary had been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers.
Zary leads all Wranglers players with 10 points in six games this season, and had 58 points in 72 games last season.
In practice on Tuesday, Zary was slotted on the right wing on a line with Yegor Sharangovich and Nazem Kadri, and also saw time on the second power-play unit.
The Flames have scored just 19 goals in nine games, tied for third fewest in the league, and are 3-6-0.
In other Flames news, Dillon Dube and Nikita Zadorov missed practice for maintenance. The Flames return to the ice Wednesday at home against the Dallas Stars.
