Calgary Flames captain Mikael Backlund took to the ice for warm-ups and is set to play on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers.
Flames head coach Ryan Huska previously told reporters that captain Mikael Backlund is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers with an undisclosed injury.
Backlund didn't participate in the team's morning skate.
In other lineup news, rookie Connor Zary will return to action after he was a healthy scratch on Thursday, while forward Andrew Mangiapane remains out.
Backlund, who is in first season as Calgary's captain, has played in all 75 games this season and has recorded 15 goals and 23 assists.
