Minor-league centre Ilya Nikolaev has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Calgary Flames, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
The 2019 third-round pick has four points in nine games this season with the Calgary Wranglers.
The 23-year-old from Yaroslavl, Russia also played two ECHL games with the Rapid City rush in the 2024-25 season, but went scoreless. He hasn't played a game for the Flames.
In 2022 Nikolaev signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Flames and is in his third season of that contract
