The Calgary Flames signed college free agent Sam Morton to a one-year, two-way contract on Monday, the team announced.
Morton, 24, is from Lafayette, Colo., and played in 144 games with Minnesota State and Union College. He had 47 goals and 42 assists for 89 points.
Morton's deal is for $950,000 at the NHL level and will begin with the 2024-25 season. He will join the Calgary Wranglers on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign, the team announced.
