Canada's Crosby named player of the game after three assists vs. Sweden

Sidney Crosby is the oldest player in the 4 Nations Face-Off, but he didn't look like it in the opener.

The Canadian captain was named player of the game after collecting three assists in a 4-3 win, including setting up Mitch Marner's overtime winner.

Crosby also had a slick spinning assist on Canada's first goal in the opening minute and set up Mark Stone's goal to put Canada up 3-1.

Montreal fans showed Crosby plenty of appreciation before the game and after the winner crossed the line, with fans chanting his name as they headed for the exits.

"An unbelievable game, unbelievable skill and talent out there," Crosby told Sportsnet's Kyle Bukauskas following Canada's win. "You dream of playing in games like this."

The 37-year-old Crosby was nearly forced to withdraw from the tournament with an injury but was cleared to play on Monday. There was no sign of injury against Sweden as the captain led the way once again.
