Canadiens' Byron gives credit to friends and family for seaplane crash rescue

Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron remained humble after assisting in a seaplane crash rescue on Sunday.

The pilot was alone on board and crashed in Lac des Sables in the Laurentians, about two-and-a-half hours north of Montreal.

Byron took to social media to give credit to Serge Labelle, who was on the lake in a jet-ski, for rescuing the pilot.

He also thanked his father-in-law, brother-in-law and a friend for assisting in the rescue alongside him.

"I want everyone to know that it was Serge Labelle who rescued the pilot and should be recognized for his heroic actions," Byron said in his statement over Twitter. "Serge is the hero!"
