Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber will not play in Friday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets because of an upper-body injury.
In 48 games this season, Weber has six goals and 19 points while leading all Canadiens skaters in ice time, averaging 22:42 per game.
Erik Gustafsson will draw into the lineup to play in his fourth game since being acquired at the trade deadline. Gustafsson has recorded a pair of assists in three games.
Forwards Paul Bryon and Tomas Tatar also remain out of the lineup for the Canadiens.
