The Montreal Canadiens announced Thursday that defenceman Ben Chiariot will return to Montreal to undergo further medical evaluation.
Chiarot left Wednesday night’s game versus the Vancouver Canucks after fighting forward J.T. Miller in the first period. He appeared to be in some discomfort after punching Miller’s helmet with his right hand, and threw his helmet at the ground in frustration as he left the game.

The 29-year-old has five points (one goal, four assists) through 24 games in his second season with the Canadiens.
