Just eight days after having his appendix removed, Montreal Canadiens defenceman Kaiden Guhle was back on the ice.
The Canadiens announced on Thursday that Guhle has resumed skating on his own and that he is being evaluated on a daily basis. Montreal announced last week that Guhle had his appendix removed on Sept. 18.
Guhle, 22, had six goals and 16 assists in 70 games in his second NHL season last year.
The Canadiens picked the Edmonton native in the first round (16th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
Montreal heads to Toronto on Thursday for a pre-season game against the Maple Leafs. You can watch the game live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
