Montreal Canadiens defenceman Joel Edmundson will make his long-awaited return on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken.
Edmundson is making his season debut as he worked his way back from a back injury. The 28-year-old suffered the injury during training camp and was facing the possibility of having season-ending surgery.
In 55 games last season, Edmundson has three goals and 13 points. He is in the second year of a four-year, $14 million contract.
Montreal also announced that goaltender Carey Price continues to progress after skating Saturday morning but there is no timeline for his return. Christian Dvorak participated in practice in a limited-contact jersey while Jonathan Drouin continues to practice but has no date to play again.
Goaltender Jake Allen also continues to progress in his rehab and won't play this weekend.
