Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin will play his first game this season on Saturday when the team faces the Washington Capitals.
Drouin was a healthy scratch for the team's first two games.
Drouin had six goals and 14 assists in 34 games for the Canadiens last season. His campaign ended in March when he underwent wrist surgery.
Drouin will take the place of Rem Pitlick in the Habs lineup as Montreal plays for the second time in as many nights after losing in Detroit on Friday.
The third overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Drouin is in the final year of a six-year deal with a cap hit of $5.5 million.
Meanwhile, goaltender Samuel Montembeault will make his first start for the Canadiens this season after Jake Allen played the first two games.
Defenceman Kaiden Guhle will be a game-time decision for Montreal after not playing the final two periods in Detroit.
Watch the Canadiens-Capitals game at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East or SN NOW.
