The Montreal Canadiens may have to begin the 2024-25 season without one of their depth pieces.
Winger Rafael Harvey-Pinard underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair a broken leg, the team announced Friday. The expected recovery time is four months.
Harvey-Pinard, 25, suffered the injury during off-season training and he is unlikely to participate in Canadiens training camp.
Selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Canadiens, Harvey-Pinard has appeared in parts of the past three seasons in Montreal. He played 45 games — the most of his NHL career — in 2023-24, scoring two goals and 10 points in 12:38 per game.
