Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen is day-to-day after suffering an injury on Saturday night in a loss against the Detroit Red Wings, coach Dominique Ducharme said Sunday.
Dominique Ducharme confirms that Samuel Montembeault will start. Jake Allen is day-to-day and is still being evaluated for a proper diagnosis.
Mike Hoffman (upper-body injury) won't play, so Adam Brooks draws into the lineup.

Ducharme said the Canadiens continue to evaluate Allen after he was hurt following a first-period collision with Dylan Larkin, who was shoved into the goaltender by Montreal defenceman Jake Petry late in the first period.
Samuel Montembeault replaced Allen and was slated to start Sunday night against the Boston Bruins.
Adam Brooks also replaced forward Mike Hoffman (upper-body injury) in the lineup.
