Montreal Canadiens forward Tanner Pearson will miss four to six weeks with an upper-body injury, the team said Sunday night.
Pearson exited Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after the first period with an apparent hand injury.
Pearson appeared to suffer the injury when he took a shot off his left hand.
Pearson missed all but 14 games last season with the Vancouver Canucks after suffering another injury to the same hand in a game against the Canadiens. He had three surgeries for the injury.
This season, Pearson has four goals and four assists in 27 games for the Canadiens.
The Canucks traded Pearson, 31, to the Canadiens in September.
