The Montreal Canadiens' injury list keeps on growing.
In the first period of Monday's game against the Avalanche, Canadiens forward Rem Pitlick fell awkwardly into the boards after Colorado defenceman Devon Toews appeared to knock him off balance.
Pitlick left the game and the Canadiens announced he would not return. Montreal was losing 4-0 at the time of the injury.
Pitlick joins a long list of Canadiens currently out of action due to injury, including forwards Joel Armia, Paul Byron, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, Christian Dvorak, Jake Evans, Brendan Gallagher, Sean Monahan and Juraj Slafkovsky and defencemen Justin Barron, Jordan Harris and Arber Xhekaj.
Pitlick, 25, had four goals and six assists in 34 games entering Monday's game.
