Canadiens place Hoffman on IR, recall Pitlick; Gallagher out against Flames

The Montreal Canadiens have placed Mike Hoffman on injured reserve. The forward had been dealing with a lower-body injury.

The team also announced that Brendan Gallagher won't play against the Calgary Flames as he is being evaluated for a lower-body inury.

With Hoffman placed on injured reserve, Montreal has recalled forward Rem Pitlick from AHL affiliate Laval Rocket. Pitlick will join the team in Alberta for Thursday's night game against Calgary.

Pitlick makes his return to the lineup after being sent down on Nov. 18. The Ottawa native has six points (one goal, five assists) in nine games for the Laval Rocket. He has yet to record a point in seven games for the Canadiens this season.
