This season certainly hasn't gone the way Rafael Harvey-Pinard expected.
The Montreal Canadiens forward was placed on waivers for purposes of a loan to AHL affiliate Laval Rocket, the team announced Saturday.
The 25-year-old has yet to suit up for a game with the Canadians this season. He missed the start of the year after undergoing surgery on a broken leg in July and joined the Rocket on Nov. 19 on a long-term injury conditioning loan.
While in Laval earlier this year, he tallied one goal in five games and has a minus-4 rating.
Selected 201st overall at the 2019 NHL Draft, Harvey-Pinard, 25, was limited to 45 games last season due to separate lower-body injuries, registering two goals and 10 points.
The Saguenay, Que., product has put up 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points in 83 career contests with Montreal across parts of three seasons.
