Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price had knee surgery in New York on Friday, the team has announced.
Price’s recovery is expected to take 10 to 12 weeks and the team intends for him to start the season opener Oct. 13 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Tthe Canadiens say Price consulted Dr. Bryan Kelly at the Hospital for Special Surgery on issues related to his knee and hip, however it was determined hip surgery was not required.
