The Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Jakub Dobes from the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League on Friday.
Dobes, who has yet to make his NHL debut, holds a 9-3-1 record, 2.44 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 14 games with Laval this season.
The 23-year-old from Ostrava, Czechia, was drafted in the fifth round, 136th overall, by the Canadiens in 2020.
He spent two years at Ohio State University before joining Laval last season. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 24-18-6 record, 2.93 GAA and .906 save percentage in 51 games with the Rocket.
Montreal (14-17-3) is sixth in the Atlantic and returns to action Saturday on the road against the division-leading Florida Panthers (22-12-2).
