The Montreal Canadiens recalled forward Owen Beck from the OHL's Peterborough Petes on Friday.
Beck will join the team in Ottawa where the Habs will take on the Senators on Saturday.
Montreal used an emergency recall agreement between the NHL and CHL to bring Beck back into the fold. The agreement allows for one player that has signed an entry-level deal to be recalled on emergency basis in the event a team goes below 12 forwards, six defencemen or two goaltenders and already has two emergency recalls on their roster.
A player called up under those conditions may play a maximum of five games and cannot miss more than one CHL game. The NHL-CHL emergency recall may occur between Nov. 1 and March 1.
The 33rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft has split the 2022-23 OHL season between the Mississauga Steelheads and Petes, notching 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 37 games.
Beck was also a member of Team Canada at the 2023 World Juniors. He was added after Colton Dach forfeited due to injury and picked up one assist in three games.
