The Montreal Canadiens announced Tuesday that defenceman David Savard and centre Sean Monahan will be absent for two to three weeks.
Savard is out with an upper-body injury whereas Monahan suffered a lower-body injury.
The Habs also cleared the air on players who were questionable to make the trip to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Wednesday.
Defenceman Mike Matheson was ruled out and is still listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
Montreal can catch their breath as Cole Caufield will be making the short trip to the capital. The team announced that winger should be available to play after leaving Monday night's 2-1 shootout win over the Calgary Flames following a check the head by Trevor Lewis.
Jonathan Drouin will also travel with the team. The winger is still considered as day-to-day and has not played since Nov. 12.
Head coach Martin St. Louis confirmed that Samuel Montembeault will be between the pipes against the Sens.
