The Montreal Canadiens will have to continue their push for the No. 3 seed in the North Division without their captain in the lineup at least through the rest of this week.
Interim head coach Dominique Ducharme told reporters that Shea Weber will be sidelined for the team’s game vs. the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night as well as its two-game series vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday and Saturday.
There’s also the possibility that the 35-year-old, who has missed two straight games with an upper-body injury, sits for the Canadiens’ final two matchups vs. the Edmonton Oilers next week.
In 48 games this season, Weber has six goals and 13 assists.
Puck drops between the Canadiens and Senators on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and SN Now.
