First-round pick David Reinbacher has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens, the club announced Wednesday.
Picked fifth overall in this year's NHL Draft, the Austrian-born defenceman had three goals and 19 assists in 46 games last season with Kloten HC in the Swiss National League.
The six-foot-two, 195-pound Reinbacher also represented Austria at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships.
Reinbacher became the highest Austrian-born defenceman selected in NHL Draft history.
