The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth with forward Jake Evans.
Evans will count $1.7 million against the cap and will be on a one-way contract, which will end after the 2024-25 season. He would have been a restricted free agent at the end 2021-22 season.
The Toronto native registered 13 points in 47 games last season for Montreal. He also appeared in seven games during the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs where he had a goal and an assist.
The 25-year-old was selected in the seventh round by the Canadiens at the 2014 NHL Draft.
