Gustav Lindstrom is back with the Montreal Canadiens.
The defenceman has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canadiens, the team announced Wednesday.
The team then announced he has been placed on waivers for purpose of a loan to AHL Laval.
Acquired by Montreal in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings before last season, Lindstrom was claimed on waivers by the Anaheim Ducks last January.
Lindstrom was on a professional tryout contract with the Ducks at this year's training camp.
The 25-year-old Lindstrom had three goals and seven assists in 46 combined games with the Canadiens and Ducks.
A second-round pick (38th overall) by Detroit in the 2017 NHL Draft, Lindstrom has five goals and 30 assists in 174 career games with the Red Wings, Canadiens and Ducks.
