The Montreal Canadiens signed 2022 first-overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky to a three-year entry-level contract on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old was the Habs' first-overall selection in the 2022 NHL Draft, held in Montreal, last week. Slafkovsky became the first Slovakian to be drafted with the No. 1 pick.
Slafkovsky picked up five goals and five assists for 10 points in 31 games for Finnish Liiga club TPS Turku. He also won Olympic bronze with Slovakia at the Beijing Winter Games, where he was named tournament MVP.
