The Montreal Canadiens have inked forward Philippe Maillet to a one-year, two-way deal, the club announced Saturday.
The new contract marks a return to North America for Maillet, who spent the past two seasons with the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Prior to the KHL run, Maillet spent time with the AHL's Hershey Bears and Ontario Reign.
The 30-year-old has two NHL appearances to his name, with the Washington Capitals during the 2020-21 season.
In 2022-23, the Lachenaie, Que., native posted 22 goals and 53 points through 66 games for Metallurg.
The details of Maillet's new deal have not yet been disclosed.
