The Montreal Canadiens announced that first-overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky will be playing a second game in the Buffalo Sabres Rookie Challenge.
The Slovakian winger will line up for the Habs against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. Defenceman Kaiden Guhle will also line up for Montreal, making his Rookie Challenge debut in the team's final game of the event.
Canadiens staff were cautious with their 2020 first-round pick and decided he would sit out the first two games of the tournament. Guhle, who won the WHL championship and the Finals MVP award with the Edmonton Oil Kings last season, was recovering from a lower-body injury picked up in the summer.
